The brief
The room had a boxed-in cylinder, a bath nobody used and a floor that had been tiled over twice. The owners wanted a walk-in shower, storage that was not a cupboard, and the airing cupboard back as a wardrobe.
The complication was the soil connection: it ran through an external wall at a height that put the new pan two hundred millimetres out. Rerouting it internally cost a day but avoided scaffolding, which paid for itself twice over.
What we did
Strip out and cart away, floor levelled and re-boarded, the soil rerouted, underfloor heating laid across the whole floor, then first fix, tiling, second fix and a snag list walked with the owners before the final invoice.
Scope
Strip out
Full, including two tile layers
First fix

Heating
Wet underfloor, one zone
Tiling

Second fix

Making good
Plaster and paint, hallway included
“They told us six days at the start and handed it over on the sixth day. The only surprise was the hallway being repainted, which nobody had asked them to do.”
