FAQ

The questions the office answers most

Grouped by what people are actually ringing about. If yours is not here, the office answers it on the phone in about a minute.

Prices and quotes

Not on a booked appointment. An emergency attendance is a fixed $149 covering the first hour on site, and it is the same figure at 3am as at 3pm.
No. The figure agreed in writing is the figure on the invoice. If the job turns out smaller than expected the price comes down, and parts are listed at cost.
Always, including a survey visit if the job needs one. We do not charge for the time it takes to price work.

Booking and timing

Inside 90 minutes on an emergency, measured across the last 500 call outs. A booked appointment is normally next day, and same day if you ring before nine.
A two hour window, and the engineer rings when they are on the way. We do not do all-day waits.
Yes, and it is common on repeat work. It may add a day to the booking if they are on another job.

The work itself

Every one of them. The firm is registered as 512440 and each engineer carries their own card, which you are welcome to check on the doorstep.
Twelve months on our labour, and the manufacturer's warranty on any appliance, registered by us on the day of installation rather than left for you to do.
Yes, and in writing. If a boiler has years left we say so, even when a replacement is the bigger job for us.

Landlords and plans

About half the book. Certificates are $119 fixed per property, less on a portfolio, the certificate is issued the same day, and we hold the renewal dates so nothing lapses.
Fourteen days after the first inspection. That is standard across the trade and it stops a plan being bought mid-breakdown.
With a month's notice, at any time. There is no twelve month tie-in and no cancellation fee.
