Employed, not self-employed, and that is the point
A van, a phone, the tickets paid for, and no commission on anything. Two engineers and an apprentice this year.
Open Roles
Three roles, and what they actually pay
The figures below are the salary, not an on-target number that assumes you sell something. Nobody here sells anything.
Gas engineer
Domestic servicing, repairs and installations. ACS tickets essential, unvented useful. Your own van and no weekend rota unless you want the overtime.
Salary
$62,000 to $74,000
Rota
Mon to Fri, 8 to 5
Start
Immediate
Bathroom fitter
First fix through to tiling and second fix, working alongside Callum on full installations. Tiling to a good standard matters more than a plumbing ticket here.
Salary
$54,000 to $63,000
Rota
Mon to Fri, 8 to 5
Start
March
Apprentice plumber
Three years, day release paid for, and you are on a van with a named engineer from the first week rather than sweeping the workshop.
Salary
$28,000 rising yearly
Rota
Mon to Fri, day release
Start
September
What Comes With It
Six things we do not make people ask for
Most of these are ordinary. They are listed because in this trade they are not.
01
Your own van, taken home, fuel card included
02
Every ticket and renewal paid for, in work time
03
Overtime paid at time and a half, never expected free
04
No commission on parts, so nobody oversells a boiler
05
28 days holiday plus bank holidays
06
Sick pay from day one, not from day four
Applying
No cover letter. Tell us what you have fitted.
Ray reads every application himself and answers within a week, including the ones that are a no. If you would rather talk first, ring the office and ask for him.
1
You send the form. Ray reads it, not a system.
2
A phone call within the week, either way.
3
A day out on a van with the engineer you would work beside, paid.
