Siding, roofs, soft wood, window seals and car paint all lose to a rental wand.

A rental gun and a zero-degree tip
A rental pressure washer is a fine tool for a concrete driveway. Point it at almost anything else on a house and the damage shows up a season later, long after the machine has gone back to the store.
Five surfaces to leave alone
Vinyl and painted siding: water forced behind the panels stays in the wall
Shingle roofs: high pressure strips the granules that protect them
Soft wood decks and fences: the wand raises the grain and leaves stripes
Window seals and screens: the spray breaks the seal and fogs the glass
Car paint: a close pass lifts clear coat in a second
What the rental is good for
Bare concrete, a stone path or a set of garden steps can take a rental machine with a fan tip. Keep the wand moving and at least a foot from the surface, and test a corner first.
A simple rule
If the surface is painted, coated, soft or sealed, it needs a soft wash at low pressure, not more power.
When to call a crew
Roofs, two-story siding and anything that needs a ladder are better left to a crew with the right pump and the right cleaner. Ask for a written price and we will test a hidden patch before we start.
