Emergency

Emergency electricians, awake when you are.

One of our electricians carries the emergency phone every night of the year. You reach a person who can help, not an answering service taking a message.

Answered in person, every night of the year, including holidays.

$145 for the first hour

No premium surcharge for nights, weekends, or holidays. $96 per hour after that.

Make-safe starts on arrival

We isolate the fault before anything else, then work out what caused it.

Quote at daytime rates

The permanent repair is priced the next morning at our standard published rates.

Is it an emergency?

Two lists worth reading before you dial.

We would rather tell you honestly that it can wait than charge you an after-hours rate for something a Tuesday morning visit would fix.

Call us straight away

Waiting until morning is how a fault becomes a fire.

Burning smell, scorch marks, or smoke from an outlet or panel

Sparking, arcing, or buzzing from the consumer unit

Total power loss while the neighbours still have supply

A breaker that trips again immediately every time it is reset

Water reaching outlets, the panel, or exposed cable

A shock or tingle from a tap, appliance, or switch plate

Book a normal visit instead

Annoying, but safe to leave until a scheduled slot.

One dead outlet or light fitting with everything else working

A breaker that trips occasionally under a heavy load

Flickering on a single circuit with no smell or heat

An outdoor or garage circuit you can safely leave switched off

Planning work: panel upgrades, EV chargers, new lighting

On arrival

The first thirty minutes.

The order never changes. Safety, then diagnosis, then getting as much of the house back on as we responsibly can.

01

Make safe

Isolate the fault, kill the affected circuits, and confirm the rest of the property is safe to energise.

02

Find the cause

Insulation resistance and continuity testing to locate the actual fault rather than guessing at the symptom.

03

Restore what we can

Healthy circuits go back on the same visit so you have light, heat, and a working refrigerator overnight.

04

Written follow-up

A condition report by the next morning, with a fixed quote at daytime rates for the permanent repair.

Not sure it can wait?

Call and describe it. If it is safe to leave overnight we will say so, book you a morning slot, and charge nothing for the advice.

While you wait

Four things that help.

Switch off the main breaker if there is smoke, burning, or water

Unplug anything that was running when the fault happened

Keep everyone away from the panel and any wet flooring

Have a torch handy and clear a path to the consumer unit

One thing not to do

Do not keep resetting a breaker that trips instantly. It is doing its job. Forcing it back on three or four times heats the fault, damages the breaker, and turns a repair into a rewire.
