Obsidra is a private studio on Vance Street. Blackwork, fine line, Japanese and neo traditional, all drawn from scratch after a sit down consult. Every design on our flash wall leaves it once, then it is retired.
Six chairs, one private room, no music you did not agree to.
We are a small shop on purpose. Six residents means the person who draws your piece is the person who tattoos it, and the person you email back is one of them, not a front desk.
There is a private room for work that needs it, a sharps protocol you are welcome to read, and a kettle that is always on.
Six styles between six pairs of hands. If your idea sits between two of them, that is usually the interesting one.
Blackwork
Solid black and heavy contrast. Bold shapes that stay readable at arm’s length after twenty years. Noor and Sena lead this.
From $180 per hour
Fine line
Single needle work at small scale. Beautiful up close, and honest about how it ages: we size up rather than crowd a design.
From $180 per hour
Japanese
Traditional composition, wind bars and backgrounds, planned as a whole limb rather than a collection of pieces. Tam books these in multi session blocks.
Day rate $1,150
Neo traditional
Traditional bones with a wider palette and deeper rendering. Strong outline, saturated colour, built to hold.
From $190 per hour
Ornamental
Body architecture: pieces drawn to the shape you already have, following the line of a shoulder or a sternum rather than sitting on top of it.
From $180 per hour
Script and lettering
Hand drawn, never typed out of a font menu. We letter to the placement so it reads on a curve.
From $160 per hour
Sheet 06
What people say after
They talked me out of my first idea and drew something better. Two years on it still reads exactly the way it did the week it healed.

Blackwork half sleeve, with Noor
I booked a consult expecting a sales pitch and got forty minutes of somebody drawing on tracing paper over a photo of my ribs.

Script panel, with Isa
Tam planned the whole arm before touching a needle. Six sessions, no improvising, and it fits me the way it was meant to.
By chance, not by plan. If a chair opens on the day we post it on Instagram by 11am. Everything else runs through a consult, because we draw custom and that takes a conversation first.
Bring it as a reference and we will draw from it. We do not trace another artist's work, and we will say so plainly if what you have arrived with belongs to somebody else.
Between three weeks and three months depending on the artist. Noor and Isa are booking September, Tam runs a waitlist, and guest spots open on their own dates.
No. Oregon law requires you to be 18 with valid photo ID, and we check every time regardless of how old you look.
Consults open
Bring us a rough idea. We will draw the rest.
Consults run forty minutes and cost nothing. Come with references, a rough placement, and a budget range. You leave with a date, an artist, and a price band.
