New Pet

Welcome home

A puppy or kitten's first year, planned from the first night to the first birthday, with one vet the whole way.

The first year

Four visits, one vet

Kittens follow the same rhythm. Every visit ends with a written note of what we did and what comes next.

Visit four

The first visit

What to bring

1

Any records

From the breeder or shelter, even a photo of a vaccine card.

2

A stool sample

Fresh that morning, in a bag. We test it for worms.

3

Their food

Or a photo of the bag, so we can check the portion.

4

A carrier or a leash

Kittens in a carrier, puppies on a leash or in your arms.

5

Your questions

Write them down. There is no silly one.

Free first meet

Saturdays 9 to 11 am

The first week

Six things that help

Keep a rhythm

Meals, naps and trips outside at the same times every day.

A den of their own

A crate or bed in a quiet corner, with a blanket from the litter.

Puppy-proof low

Cables, shoes, houseplants and anything at nose height.

Meet people slowly

Calm visitors, one at a time, with treats in their pockets.

Handle paws and ears

A minute a day makes every future vet visit easier.

Collar and tag

Your phone number on day one, even before the microchip.
