About Maya
Maya grew up on a farm outside Hendersonville, where the nearest vet was forty minutes away. She decided at nine that the next one would be closer.
After Cornell she spent five years in a busy emergency hospital in Raleigh, then came home to the mountains and opened Nuzzle in the old Haywood Road bakery in 2011. She still sees patients four days a week and keeps Thursdays for dentistry.
At home there is Sunny, an eleven-year-old golden retriever who sleeps through every one of her phone calls.
