Your first massage: what happens in the room

A first massage can feel like a lot of small unknowns. How much do you take off, what if you fall asleep, what if it hurts? Here is what actually happens in the room, step by step, so nothing surprises you.

A short talk before you lie down

Your therapist starts with a few questions: where it aches, how you sleep, anything to avoid. Mention injuries, pregnancy or skin that bruises easily. It takes five minutes, and it shapes the whole hour, so be honest about the pressure you like.

Undress to your comfort level

They step out while you change. Most guests keep their underwear on, some take everything off; both are fine. You lie under a warm sheet, and only the part being worked on is uncovered, then tucked back in before the next.

Tell me what you like and what you do not. I would rather adjust in minute five than hear about it after.

Pressure is a conversation

Say so if it is too much or not enough, at any point. A good therapist adjusts without fuss. Some soreness on a tight shoulder is normal, sharp pain is not. Falling asleep is common, and we take it as a compliment.

Warm oil is mixed for each guest, unscented if you prefer.

The slow way back

When the hour ends, your therapist leaves you to get up in your own time. Sit for a minute before you stand, drink a glass of water, and head to the lounge rather than the street. The calm lasts longer if you let it.
