Five teas we pour in the lounge, and why

Every guest gets tea in the lounge, and the pot on the table is never chosen by chance. These are the five we pour most, and what each one is for.

Hojicha, after the heat

Roasted green tea with almost no bitterness and very little caffeine. Its warm, toasty taste suits the end of a sauna round, and it will not keep you awake if your visit runs into the evening.

Chamomile and lemon balm, before sleep

A soft, floral blend for guests who come after work. Both herbs are known for calming a busy mind. We serve it to almost everyone booked after six, and we sell it at the desk because people ask.

We pour the tea before you ask, because the moment after a treatment is the best part.

Ginger and turmeric, on cold days

Bright and a little spicy, it warms you from the inside when you come in from the snow. Ginger also settles a stomach that is not sure about heat, which helps on a first visit.

The lounge tea table, refilled all day.

Peppermint and sencha, for focus

Two teas for guests who need to go back to the day. Peppermint is cool and clear; sencha is fresh and grassy with a light lift of caffeine. Both pair well with a short visit at lunch.
